I can sum up this weekend with one word: awesome! It started with a much needed vacation day on Friday, which I spent getting my car fixed up (oh, adult life...) and then going to see a concert with my best friend at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. Saturday was filled with smiles, laughs and lots of adorable children. Since last weekend was so cold, the mini sessions were all rescheduled for Saturday at my parent's farm in Taneytown, MD. I am so glad I made the location change because it was absolutely gorgeous outside. All of the apple trees were all in bloom, as well as the wild patches of blue bells. A whole day spent barefoot, taking photos of gorgeous children and their parents. Dream come true! And Max and I spent all of Sunday lounging out in our backyard with our dog. Read books, playing games and enjoying the sun. So yeah, pretty awesome weekend.
Kira & Kenna
It has been over a year since I have seen these two and boy, have they grown! Kira was all energy, running around the yard and smiling like crazy. She is definitely the girl I remember photographing twice before. Kenna is extremely observant and loved looking all around at the trees, birds and blue sky. And thanks to Mom and Dad for having Frozen on hand, because we were about to get some adorable smiles during our impromptu Frozen dance party! I can now officially say I have heard the entire "Let It Go" song.
Chrystie, Evan & Hunter
I posted this on Facebook but the sentiment remains the same. It feels like I just photographed their wedding the other day and now I am photographing their adorable baby boy! Nothing warms my heart more than being able to capture special moments in a couples life. Baby Hunter was all smiles, almost the entire time. He loved the feeling of the grass on his feet and being in his parents' arms. He made my job very easy!
Zoe & Libby
Again, it feels like Max and I just photographed Zoe and Cody's wedding the other weekend and here I am photographing their adorable baby girl! Zoe and I were able to coordinate on outfits and look and feel for the session. And she actually made her flower crown a few minutes before our session! We walked around, doing very little posing and letting Zoe and Libby be themselves together. I could not be happier with how these photos turned out!
Paper Moon Diner - We woke up on Sunday exhausted from all of the work on Saturday. So naturally, instead of wanting to cook breakfast, I suggested we go one of our favorites, Paper Moon Diner! There is nothing I love more than the atmosphere of that place... well, maybe the food. I have never liked grits until I had them there. Only downside, not enough room for all of the food I would love to eat. Max got the nachos and the Buffalo Tofu Wrap and I got a veggie egg sandwich with a side of the grits. Amazing. Cannot recommend that place enough. Wish my phone hadn't died and I could have gotten a photo of the food though... That is the outside of the diner, and Max's feet.
Carrie & Lowell - Sufjan Stevens - This is my new favorite album. It has been a long time since I have listened to an entire album without skipping a song here and there. I don't have much to say about it other than it is beautiful, heavy and at times, overwhelming. Great for when driving, working, editing, and all times in between.
